Welcome to St Patrick's College Past Pupils Association news sheet on what has been happening since we launched our Association in 2000.
We have appointed a full committee arising from the interest shown by concerned individuals and martyrs! The committee is up and running and has been meeting regularly every month. We have appointed various willing souls to undertake tasks and activities and we have drawn up our constitution and rules.
Membership forms are available on request (£10 membership for one year) - (see contact page) and a special Commemorative College Tie will be soon be available.
Our second Annual Dinner Dance in the Europa Hotel, Belfast last year was a great night out and good ol’ Frank Mitchell gave his time to compare the extravagant raffle. We were able to get a magnificent set of local Irish Dancers to perform and the excellent band provided the music for those willing and capable (or thought they were) of dancing.
Our Table Quiz at the Honey Club (formerly The Shaftsbury Inn), Antrim Road on 24/03/2007 was well attended, and in conjunction with the P.T.A., it gave us all a great evening's craic.
This years Dinner Dance is planned for November, though the venue has yet to be decided.
The Annual General Meeting will be held in October 2007. You will all be advised closer to the date about where and at what time it will take place.
We are looking at the idea of eventually getting our own premises for members to use and enjoy, but this will be a more achievable goal if we meet the challenge of having 1,000 members by the year 2008.
Please note that all contributions to the newsletter will be treated with obvious caution, but we will do our utmost to include ’good pieces of bizz’ that you may dig up from whatever source - within reason!!...send contributions etc. to PPA@stpatrickscollege.net.
Membership and support of events and gatherings are essential for the continued success of the Past Pupils Association. We all hope that by renewing old friendships and establishing contacts, there can again be that 'Barney Boys' identity that has been so evident over the years, but with uniforms and discipline!
As you are aware the College has been increasingly successful in the standards of education achieved by its staff and students and has been supportive of our Association since its inception. We can also enjoy the developments taking place and take pride in the new buildings and facilities now available to the staff and students.
