Text Box: Croissants, churros and hot chocolate were on the breakfast menu again for year 8 and 9 in celebration of European Day of Languages. It wasn’t all play though as year 8 and 9 expanded their knowledge of other European countries in a fact-finding quiz thanks to the Year 10 French class who produced the information sheets for the European countries.
A number of pupils from Year 11 and 12 helped the primary 5 pupils of St. Thérèse of Lisieux celebrate the diversity of language by delivering a lesson in French and Spanish. Frankie Cosgrove, Jordan McIlveen and Declan Noble impressed the pupils with the variety of activities they used in their French lesson about school items. Pupils successfully completed listening and reading activities and took part in a number of language games under the instruction of the Text Box: Text Box: three boys. The P5s enjoyed the lesson so much they asked if they could teach a French lesson every Wednesday.
Let’s not forget Danny McGrady in year 11 who, with some support from Christopher Rhodes, delivered his Spanish lesson with the same gusto! A natural in the classroom, Danny was completely comfortable standing in front of 30 pupils and holding their full attention for the duration of the lesson. The teachers in St Patrick’s will have to watch out with such natural teaching talent shown by our boys!!
